This is normal for you, considering your family and experience.
But it isn't the healthiest outlook, especially, concerning the suspicion that you feel.
You can get better, but you have to talk about it with someone who can advise you on ways to lighten your outlook.
Sure, there are those who are worse off, but you are still entitled to improve your life and your attitude.

TBH I think most people feel like this most of the time. It's having the guts to stand up and say it that counts. I always worry people are not genuine but I had a revelation a week ago. Worrying won't actually stop them talking behind my back or slagging me off so I refuse to do it anymore! It's working so far, I'm happier than I have been in ages ;)

You sound like me, its common yes but not a healthy mind set to have, I suffer from depression also and often have suicidal thoughts but often if I think about the shame it would cause my family it stops me from going any further, you have had a very troubled past so its no wonder you feel this way, you should try and contact a relevant helpline such as the Samaritans.

I used to have the same problem last year.
My mom sent me to a counciler for it, but that didn't help.

It got so bad, and I became emo. It also led to suicidal attempts.

If you start to feel these symptoms, you need to contact a doctor immediatly.

I saw my doctor and he gave me some pills for it, and they semi-helped.

What really helped me is the fact that I found something I like to do, which is write. I'm not saying you have to put positive things in your writing, because I put negative thoughts. It's just that it really helped me out, but I had a good support system as well. So just try and find something you like to do, or something you're good at and put your thoughts into it.

I do think that it might be normal because you were abused as a youngling, and it might be hereditary as well.

But as I said, contact your doctor and keep a journel.

You need to try and trust people more as well. Not everyone is like you think they are.

The feelings your feeling are common amounst people who are depressed and need to see someone who can help....

If you seek help and move towards a more positive way of thinking you will gain and gain and gain... going from one goal to another....

Get Help....

Problems in life then are easly managed and become just small blips in your life instead of the large downers you feel they are at the moment...
