Were I grading the test, 79.997 certainly rounds to 80 for a passing score. In fact, 79.5 rounds to 80.

In most places I have worked that grade would be "rounded up" to 80. If that is not happening, ask if you can do some extra work to bring it up to 80. Best of luck with it.

Depends on the teacher and your programs grading scale. Some teachers won't round up so if not sadly your out of luck. I am in the nursing program and passing score for everything is 75% If we get 74.999 we still fail the course.

round up to pass unless you've jerked the teacher around.

I'm afraid you're at the mercy of your professor. Hopefully he/she will have a heart and round up. Try talking to him/her about it, but not in a confrontational way. Hopefully, they will see things differently.
