i love the name Abigail.....hence the reason my 4 year old daughter is called Abigail Elisa or Abbi/nini for short
as she gets older we could also short name her has
Gabi
or Gail...
she has how ever blonde hair blue eyes and definitely a Abigail

I love the nickname Abby, but Abigail's just never been a favorite name of mine. It's still a really pretty name, but I think it's just that I've known far too many in my lifetime lol. Abilene is another sweet name that could use the nickname Abby.

Abigail is a timeless classic. So yes, I love it. ;)
Not quite as fond of the popular "Abby" nickname, however. It simply reminds me of the abdominal muscles. "Check out how 'abby' that lifeguard is!" LOL
Odd associations aside, I'd personally prefer a less common nickname when the given name itself is already in the top ten. It's just nice to give the child options. Rather than the typical Abby/Addy/Maddy sort, Abigail might use Aggie, Aila or Gail. ;) Just a thought.

Abigail is cute (albeit WAY too common), Abby is not.... nicknames suck.
