No. I've been inside bankruptcy court and some credit card companies try to block it, but it's usually futile on their part, even in cases where it almost looks like fraud. I watched one where a guy got a brand new card, went to Vegas, maxed it out and filed Chapter 7. It was more a formality on the card company's part, just trying for a hope.

Besides, in a Chapter 7, you can keep that card out of bankruptcy if you choose, and continue paying on it.

And in a Chapter 13, you're actually still paying off the debt, just at your speed, not the company's.

Usally when you are in the process of filing bankruptcy, the courts does not want any additional spending, ie...loans, credit charges, etc. I would advise you not to use your credit card if you are in the process of bankruptcy. If you did not begin the proceedings, than yes, it would be safe to use it, before any transactions relating to bankruptcy begins.

If you file bankruptcy, it's pretty likely that your credit card company will be closing your accounts -- all of your accounts. Also, you cell phone company will immediately shut you off. There are probably others.

with your mom's permission, those are presents to you. If the whole presents for the twelve months are $12,000 or extra, your mom (no longer you) has to record a present tax kind. that is kind 709. the quantity over $12,000 is a taxable present, yet she would not start up paying taxes until eventually she receives to $1Million in presents.
