Many different things. Is it thick like cottage cheese? Probably a yeast infection. Is it green or yellow? Probably an infection or a sexually transmitted disease. Go see the doctor. Is it like blood clots? Could be a miscarriage or you could have fibroids, all depending upon your age and if you are engaging in sexual activity. Go see the doctor if it doesn't clear in a few days. Sometimes a thick mucus discharge occurs as a result of a change in your hormones, but that will last only a few days. If in doubt, see your OB/GYN.
