I don't think it makes any significant difference. The history of politics has shown that women are no better at governing than men (though also no worse).

Also, the position of peace negotiator is not an easy one to get. Any woman in that position would have had to prove herself (as would any man), and would have to be ambitious, hard-willed, and world wise, traits that aren't exactly the best for executing the _duties_ of that position.

I think women are the equals of men in most fields. I just don't think that being female gives them an advantage in this field.

First: I don't think you can categorize general qualities based on gender...
That being said, I get your point, so:

Female (Traditionally...these are not my opinions)
Motherly figures, kind, warm
Male:
Aggressive, Determined to get things done, power
