Not quite. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have actually cost $1.6 TRILLION dollars and would cost the average American family of four $16,500.00 which is about $4,125.00 per person. If you can find that in your couch cushions, where do you live, 'cause I'll come clean your house for you. YOU "get serious" with your rhetoric and spin.

You seem to have confused billions with trillions. Since there are about 300 million Americans, the war has cost us each $5000. You'd need a pretty big couch to find that under it.
Anyway, the reason for the complaints is that, along with the loss of life, this just shows what a waste the war has been, as that money could have been put to useful purposes.

Well then send it in, they will be happy to have it. People complain because domestic programs are being cut. This is the first war in U.S. history that the general public has not been asked to make no sacrifice. Normal wars require some sacrifice by the general public, taxes, or doing without something. Unless you have someone in the war you have not been affected, but you will be, or your children will be when the bills for this come due. If those in office are so conservative about money, why do they always push off payment of bills until they are long out of office.

You could have used that $5 to buy a calculator and realize that the real figure is about $5,000 per person.
Don't worry, the cost is going UP each year, and we'll be over there AT LEAST another five years. Unless they decide we need to stomp Iran, too.
That Iranian democracy is always getting in our way. Why can't they just go back to the monarchy/dictatorship? It works so well for our friends Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

I'm glad you can, but what about the person that is having a hard time buying food for their family, and putting gas in their car to go to work, that keeps going up and up. Most people don't want their taxes going to defend another country, just to have their loved ones blown to pieces. So it is more than the cost of money, how about the cost of lives.
