As an atheist I don't really have an argument against that, except to say that one should be careful not to oversimplify religion, its effects or its psychological foundations.
The god used as the answer to "life, the universe and everything" is increasingly an ever-shrinking "god of the gaps." As an explanation, gods are becoming more and more irrelevant with the onward march of scientific progress and knowledge.
