I use a washing machine. And I use cold water because I don't think there is a difference between using cold or hot water, except for the difference that the hot water will use more electricity.

depends on what I am washing..Most clothes I wash in warm water with a cold rinse...I do use cold and cold with dark colors or things that are delicate or tend to shrink
the only time I ever use hot is when I want to shrink something or to wash my white sheets or my plastic shower curtain

Hot if they are germy, warm if they are older, cold if they are new. Cold water won't make them shrink, like hot does. Hot water kills the germs, like if the dog peed on them. I always use cold.

Cold for 9/10s of the laundry, warm with oxy-booster for towels, sheets, and really grubby stuff.
It saves on the gas bill.

It all depends on what I'm washing!

If it's white, I'll use bleach and hot water.

If it's jeans or heavy material, I'll use warm water.

Everything else is washed in cold.
