-(2k-3)=k-9
Distribute the "-1" on the left side of the equation.
-2k+3=k-9
Subtract 3 from both sides.
-2k=k-12
Subtract k from both sides.

You're being asked to distribute the negative thru the whole deal and then solve.

9-(2k-3) =k

9 -2k +3 (now + as a negative minus a neg is the same as
+ a positive)

9-2k+3=K
-2k +12=K
12=3K
4=K

9-(2k-3)=k
first distribute, if there is nothing in front of the parentheses except for a negative sign then you multiply by -1
9-2k+3=k
then combine like terms
12-2k=k
put all the "k's" on one side of the equation
+2k +2k
12=3k
then divide by 3 on both sides
4=k
