For my parents it varies - Last year I got them a camcorder. With 5 grand kids they use it a lot.

I have also just gotten them gift cards to stores they like, for dad - bass pro shop, home depot, lowes, wal-mart, for mom - bath and body works, khols, wal-mart. Gift basket from Bath and body works.

Do the same for mother in law.

Every year it gets harder to buy for parents. They either have everything they need or they just get it themselves.

They don't want any material gift from their kids. They want their kids to spend time with them, so tickets to a show that includes you and your siblings going with them. Family dinner together, where they aren't paying for it or doing the work. Family portrait.

You've got the WORST taste in music and would have the WORST taste in entertainment if you liked talentless reality shows! Listen to good music like ICP!

I usually get my parents something that would make them go out on a date; i.e. movie gift card, dinner certificate, etc.

My mum is always happy with something sparkley. and for dad i was thinking of getting a DVD box set of one of his favorite TV series or something like that. If I can't find him something, then I can always just get him a case of Guinness and some golf balls.
