Buliding A Sound Booth?

My brother is making a sound booth from scratch, does anyone have any tips?

He can get some metal hook eyes and attach them to the ceiling, then hand egg crate mattress pads on all 4 sides. (or acoustic pads but they are more expensive for the same thing)
Or he can just sit on the floor in between two pieces of upholstered furniture. When I'm in a motel, I drape the nightstand with a bedspread and the sit down and file my news reports from between the beds.

Have him use a floor stand for the mic instead of a desk stand, because the desk stand picks up vibrations. Or better yet, a headset because he needs to wear headphones so he can hear what it sounds like as he's doing it.
