Coolermaster is the better psu. Don't use unknown namebrand for your psu and yes they are worth it. Better psu won't crash your system and it will provides clean and accurately power to all your devices.

This isn't your answer, but a follow up question. What is your applications? Heavy graphics use or calculations?
I never really think they are worth the extra cash.
Are you really sure about getting a cpu for an existing motherboard? You have to be sure about compatability and bus speed matching etc, etc. I never get them seperate. Always try to get a MB with the CPU. They are usually matched up. Yes 75% of the time it will work, but you run into so many problems.

What makes you want to get a 650W power supply? Is there something wrong with the 550W PSU you already have? I highly doubt your setup is pushing anywhere near 550 watts, and unless you are having glaring issues I would have to say any one of them would be a waste of money.

Now if you were to add another 8800GTS card in an SLI setup, I'd say maybe, but otherwise, don't waste your money.

As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Get the one with the strongest +12V rails. Your processor circuit and your graphics card draw power mainly on the +12V rails, processor on +12V2 and the rest on +12V1. 8800GTS draws about 9 amps on +12V1. Your Q6600 and its voltage regulator draw almost 10 amps on +12V2.

Your EZCool 550W probably has a weak +12V rail.
