why is the spiderman 2 called spiderman 2.1 on tv (FX channel)?.

This is a marketing gimmick. They call Videos 2.1 etc. when they have xtras like behind the scenes and deleted scenes added in.

The only difference between spiderman 2 and spiderman 2.1 is that it has a few additional bonus features plus a preview of spiderman 3.

There's some additional or alternative footage. The elevator scene is almost completely different. I like the theater version much better than 2.1.

Man...that's the advertising name, it's really it's Spiderman 2.
