There is truth to the story, but there is also a point which is minimized in the movie but stands out more in the book. In rebelling against the system, the narrator through Tyler Durden becomes what he was originally fighting against. The story in the book doesn't have a happy ending, he ends up alone in a mental institution after shooting himself in the head.

The whole issue of Fight Club is it set up sort of like an initiation rite for the modern world. It's nothing new, fight club had existed long before the author came up with the idea. Society is actively trying to control our mind and influence what and how we think, and only want us as dumb consumers.

Anyway, the problems with society that are mentioned are real, the solutions to those problems, we'll they weren't actually long term solutions. Still, every man should know and be willing to fight, that at least is a start. What he does after that is something nobody else can tell him since they would be no better then the forces in society already trying to control him.

Yeah it brings up alot of intersting points about what our consumer driven society is like. There's a chance we all could have a little voice inside all of our heads that tells us to fight all the lies we've been fed since we were born. The real question is whether or not we should trust and follow that voice.

i imagine it changed into between the ten wonderful videos of the ninety's. The speech that Tyler gave the club individuals (previous to Lou got here in) nailed it on the top for multiple human beings of my technology. "We grew up observing television and questioning we were going to advance as a lot as change into movie stars and rock god's, and we slowly comprehend that it really is now unlikely to take position. And we are extremely annoyed."

that's good question, and yeah, I think maybe we all do have that other person inside of us that helps us make decisions.
Fight Club has the main Character (Norton), his life is so redundant and tiring, that this other personality, Tyler Druden, in him edges his way to the foreground. he started down the dark path of going insane and that's what happend to him.

Once he started to fake being someone else, all those times he went to the various support groups, he started to become someone else....

I love this movie, the writing in it is awsome.

Definitely. I think everyone has a voice that tells them to do things like that, but most people are able to suppress it. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to let out my inner-Tyler, but I always hold it back.
