In Toronto, Canada there are debates whether or not an "All Black (Race)" School should be created.
What are your thoughts on this topic?
Is this something that should be created for the Black race due to possible racial discomfort in multi-gendered schools?
What would happen if all races decided on doing this?
Does this pose as a possible Racism Conflict to arise?
Let me know what you think. :)

Hmmm... #1 Reason to why people EVER become racist... is because others influence others.
When you were a child did you think any different of someone of a different colour?
No.
It is the way your are raised, the friends you have and the community you grow up in.

Another thing I have noticed is that people of the black culture often hold things against people because of historic events. It does not need to be the way it was, it can be changed. The problem is only forgetting it, and the prevention of using it as an excuse.

that is wild. talk about history repeating itself. that's basically going back to segregation. that would be depriving the children of the social skills they need to live in a diverse world without going crazy. if i only went to school with black people my whole life by the time i graduate and get a job wouldn't it be hard for me to have to work for or with people of different races. and for the person saying there are black schools everywhere, there are predominately black schools in a lot of places and anyone is welcome to attend. they aren't strictly limited to black students only.

I think this is an incredibly stupid concept. People DIED to stop segregation of schools and other places, not even an entire century ago, why would people willingly go back to that? Also, a segregated school doesn't prepare students for the real world: the world isn't all one race, so if you grow up only surrounded by your own race, how do you learn to relate to people of different races, religions, etc? It would be several giant leaps backward and the world is already backward enough right now.
Btw, a multi-gendered school, would be one with multiple genders, as in male and female, did you mean multi-race?

I think that is an extremely stupid idea. And I also believe that it is an attempt at segregation. When will we stop holding each other accountable fot things that happened in the past and things we did not take part in. Will this whole "race" issue that is dividing us ever end!? We are all part of the 'human race".

WTF? "possible racial discomfort in multi-gendered schools"??? Exactly how many genders do you all have up there? And are there even enough black people up in Canada that the white people are all wigged out and had to make up such a lame idea as "possible racial discomfort" in order to justify segregation? What the hell is going on up there? This is one of the dumbest things I've seen all day.

I've actually heard this argument before. Some people feel that all-girls and all-boys schools are great ideas because studies have shown that students achieve more academically when they are placed with people who are like them.
Yes, I do think that people might holler racism behind this proposal....but they might as well yell sexism behind schools that are all-girls. They also would want to yell discrimination behind an academic concept that is based on Catholicism. You can't make everyone happy.

i hope my thoughts don't cause offence think this would be a big step backwards to apatite and in itself is racist i do believe its very wrong but every body is a racist no matter what colour or race you may be and this idea is not the way to end this problem the children are the ones that suffer for our arrogance if they are let be they wouldn't see colour just another child to play with

I leave Toronto for 9 or 10 years, and this what you guys decide to do? Damn....
A "black-only" school would never fly in the Western World, because that would allow the reintroduction of "white-only" schools and we're supposed to be trying to move AWAY from segregation.

I ought to assert that black is my all time renowned color. I mean dont get me incorrect, warm crimson and black are like 2 peas in a pod yet once I had to go with it might little doubt be black.

No Black schools should not be created!
No White schools should not be created!
Black and White schools here are not actually segregated de facto. its segregated by the place or origin you live in. if you live in a urban neighborhood, there are more blacks, therefore the school will be predominately Black.
