No, crying does not always denote that a person needs comforting. Some people cry because they are happy. Why are you crying?

I would be present with you. I think this is the best way to comfort someone - be fully present...listen to them, ignore the chatter in the background. Offer a hug to you. I just might cry too.

no coz how would i know when u cry or not? unless u have a webcam and ur on messenger then thats the only way i'd know.....n even then i wouldnt be able to comfort u coz ur in a totally different area than me and a total stranger!

Of course. I don't like to see people upset. I'd find someway to cheer you up, either by a joke or a corny song. Talking always helps. Even if I don't know you. Maybe I'd make a friend

I wouldn't have any words to say but I would certainly offer a hug and if you wanted to spill your guts about what's making you sad I'd just listen.

i would want to, but i am the worst person in the world at comforting. i'd probably pat your shoulder, and think through all the things i could say; i'd decide they all sound to fake and cheesy, and end up standing there going sort of 'uhhhmmm...' 'uh...'
i hate the fact i'm like this. i feel like i look like i'm being insensitive.

i don't know you. I might ask if you're okay and listen to your problem to comfort you but i wouldn't give out hugs. I only give out hugs when im in the best of moods.

depends. are you crying because you just killed someone? if so, id run away from you.
if you're crying because your bf left you, then I'd comfort you...unless he left you because you cheated on him!
If you're crying because you missed an episode of desperate housewives, I'd cry for you.

... depends on the situation... sometime there are situations where I "know" how you feel but I don't "understand" how you feel. You know what I mean?
