I'm thinking of changing broadband provider to make my bills cheaper.

I would be going from 4mb download speed unlimited downloads to 8mb speed with 40gb download limit.

The thing is that as I've been on unlimited since signing up - I have no idea what I actaully use per month.

I only use the internet for really for surfing and forums.

I'm not a big music fan, so don't download music, I don't download pirated films, etc...

I've found the joys and amusement of youtube though...

How quickly could I use up 40gb?

Any ideas based on what I've described?

For the overall human being 40gb is more suitable than sufficient. notwithstanding you should comprehend that the 40gb contains report downloads, web pages, digital mail despatched and recieved and so on and so on and so on. really in case you deliver or recieve documents it eats into your month-to-month allowance. in case your basically surfing and downloading songs then till you've a mad urge you have to be ok. videos....properly thats a diverse count number, noticeably in case your getting them from a p2p website. As already reported your utilization can double. Oh through ways in case you will get 8Mb d/l p.c. then your doing properly. 8Mb is the theoretical optimal. absolutely notwithstanding you'd be doing properly in case you get 1/2 that even on a good line. consider signal degregation, distance, human beings on-line and so on and your gazing round about 2 - 2.5Mb

Since you don't download anything, you should be safe. However, you should note that downloading isn't restricted to movies and music. Email and any email attachments that you download to your computer counts against the limit as with any security patches and products.

Your ISP should have a record of your downloading history (mine has a special webpage that I can check). You may want to contact your ISP to ask what your history has been and if you can access the records yourself.

For only watching videos from youtube, 40gb should be way more than you will need. Most people can live of 20gb for stuff like you do.

From what you've described, you wont actually reach that download limit in a month.
