Yes it was base on a book by author V.C. Andrews, the book was much better than the movie also there were two other books based on those characters, Petals On the Wind and If There Be Thorns. You should check them out at your local library. If you liked the movie because it was creepy then you will love the books.

Yes. Fairly good, but had nothing on the book as far as its level guilty-pleasure naughtiness.

BTW, the author VC Andrews died a year before the movie premiered. And yet she still manages to publish books to this day. Talk about about determination!

I'm trying to forget it. The book should either be left alone or made into a quality movie. The movie that was made just shouldn't have been.

Yes. I watched it for the fist time when I was around 9, I think. I didn't understand half of it. Now I watch it and wonder who the adult was that let me view that movie at such a young age.

Horrible acting... but I like it.

Yes, and I read all the books. It was a freaky movie. I thought it was well done at the time and the music still gives me the heebie jeebies.
