Listening to Crest of a Knave at the moment but also have Songs from the Wood, Minstrel In The Gallery and Broadsword. I have also listened to Heavy Horses. I think Heavy Horses was the best. Am I right?

Perhaps I should have metioned Aqualung but in the light of their more mature work I think it now sounds a bit over the top (lyrics a bit melodramatic) compare with say 'farm on the freeway' which has significant meaning.

I probably like Songs from the Woods best, followed by The Broadsword and the Beast (definately worth getting the extended version with 8 extra tracks - insane that this wasn't originally released as a double album as was intended).

My other favourites have to be Aqualung, Heavy Horses and Crest of a Knave (again get the version with the extra track "Part of the Machine").

Difficult question, as they've released so much in many different styles. My personal favourites are "Songs from the Wood" and "Minstrel in the Gallery", but some of their early stuff is great too. I love "Wond'ring Again" from "Living in the Past". The best of their later albums for me is "Rock Island".

If you're a Tull fan, it's really down to personal taste. As a complete album, for example, I think "Benefit" is a masterpiece, without any real stand-out songs (except perhaps for "To Cry You A Song") - they're all good and work well together.

Also, some of Ian Andersons solo work is superb. Listen to "The Secret Language of Birds" and you'll see what I mean.

Ah Jethro Tull how I were given my first call my dad tells me lengthy time period fan my dad and that i. Aqualung is an somewhat good album regularly so it really is hard to maintain on with extremely yet and considering the first human being said Thick as a brick is an somewhat good album to hearken to next a lot extra so then Warchild notwithstanding Jethro Tull has alot of very diverse albums rock individuals blues surreal sorts of images so extremely it relies upon on what you want to hearken to. they have multiple great things in case you want extra blues flow with an early album like This changed into or upward push up in case you want a touch exciting blend of early individuals and somewhat rock attempt Minstrel contained in the Gallery or in case your searching for that rock sound Thick as a Brick is a huge decision. otherwise it isn't completely elementary for my section to come back to a decision on a good keep on with up at the same time as it is composed of Jethro Tull noticeably after Aqualung

I know this is too obvious but I really love Aqualung. Wondring Aloud is a beautiful song. I love the jazz flute in Cross-Eyed Mary. It is just a great album.
I very rarely see Jethro Tull mentioned on here. There one of my favorite bands and I'm glad they're being recognized.

Passion Play
Aqualung
Minstrel
Thick as a Brick

Some of their later stuff is pretty good... Roots to Branches and Ian's solo stuff, etc...

I have Living With the Past {DVD} which is footage from a concert at which they play their greatest hits. It's excellent... the sound is great, the performance is tight, fluid and professional... It's really evident that they've been working pretty hard for the past thirty {now forty} or so years.
