Here in yahoo answers we usually write exponents following the hat symbol "^".
Your first question should look like this:
p(-pq)^4 - p^3(2pq^2)^2
= p^5q^4 + 4p^3(p^2q^4)
= (p^5)q^4 + 4(p^5)q^4
= 5(p^5)q^4[that's answer a)]

(2x^2y^3)^4(-xy^2)^2
=(16x^8y^12)(x^2y^4)
=16(x^10)(y^16)[that's answer d)]
