For some reason, bio-pics tend to be awful. There are a few that have been done very well, but most of them make me never want to see another movie again. I think it's Hollywood's habit of messing around with a storyline in a very capricious way, which becomes most obvious and most grotesque when the story is supposed to based on fact. The worst of the genre are the low-budget tributes to second-string show-biz people. Three of the worst that I've seen (I can't remember the titles) were about Peter Sellers, Andy Kaufman, and Ed Wood (who was himself the creator of some of the worst movies in Hollywood history, so here you have a really bad movie about a guy who made really bad movies, which I guess is some kind of a unique distinction).

A Timeless film. The main point of the film was that there was very little seperating the three main characters morally. The "bad" was manipulative cold and calculating. The "good" was just as ruthless and manipulative as the "bad" but was compassionate when he could be (giving the dieing confedrate soldier his warm overcoat in exchange for a thin poncho). The "ugly" was ruthless, but not terribly bright and easily manipulated. There is very little dialog in the whole film as with most of Leone's films, this give more volume to the characters actions in the film.

Yes, I bought it fairly recently. Surprised to see it had an 18 age restriction - it's so tame I let my daughter watch it!
Great movie.
