A brigade is slated to come home, followed by 5 more within the next few months, Why is Harry Reid saying Bush must begin troop withdrawals to get funding? Does he think everyone is son dumb as to think his demand after the fact has any influence?

The surge has worked and now the drawdown from those high numbers of deployments have begun.

As far as that rotten proposal to link the supplemental to a forced total withdrawal of American troops from Iraq is concerned, Reid is clearly working toward American defeat in Iraq in the face of imminent victory. Democrats can't tolerate American victory.

If that doesn't neatly summarize Democrat treason, I don't know what could.

He is gradually withdrawing troops that were added due to the surge, when the process is over the troop levels (if Bush gets his way) will still be at pre-surge levels.

Reid and other Dems are calling for real reductions and for serving troops to have as much leave as they spend in Iraq.

It's horribly unfortunate if either side plays politics with this issue.

I really don't care what Reid or Bush (except as his capacity as Commander In Chief) thinks. What I do care about is what General Patreus and the military thinks.

conflict in Afghanistan i will ought to assert replaced right into a justifiable conflict with reason beind it and that i do see what you advise to a element. however I do think of the conflict in Iraq replaced into uncalled for as in my eyes what if Iraq would have been bluffing approximately WMD to maintain Iran from invading...they are enemies and characteristic fought earlier inspite of each little thing. consequently we actually weren't threatened till we invaded into Iraq giving insurgents a reason to combat against American troops as we gave the impression of the aggressors there. the genuine people who deserve the apology for the blunders of going to conflict are the adult adult males and females of the united statesmilitary and the families who've misplaced relatives for the conflict and that i think of it is going to be extra in my opinion from Bush.

Are they really coming home or just being shuffled around to trade places with other troops in other places?

It is true. If the democrats had some balls, they could TOTALLY cut funding without anyone permission. That is where he feels his influence is.
