Should I get new headshots before submitting to all these agents/ managers or should I have that be my first order of business with the new representation?

I have been with my agent for 13 years and I just don't see him working very hard for me. I go out on theatrical (film & tv) auditions like once a month. Other people are going out twice a day. The pictures are around 2.5 years old.

You have agent whom you are leaving? HOw long has it been since your head shots were made? If they are a couple of years old, get new ones. If they are only a year or so use em.

i've got seen some smiling theatrical headshots... i think of it relies upon extra on the photographer. Photographers' aims, so some distance as i've got been taught, are to seize the two your seems and your character in the shot, for the reason that once you deliver your headshots around or circulate away them with human beings, they could circulate away some form of impact and grab the viewer. in specific situations you could tell what a guy or woman is form of like by way of making use of finding at their headshot (if their photographer got here approximately to seize that). i assume it would additionally be counted on the type you look appropriate- some human beings in simple terms have undesirable tooth and/or awkward smiles :).

Your headshot is your calling card. Get the best one you can get. Does it still really look like you? You'd be surprised. And casting directors dislike nothing so much as when an actor walks through the door and doesn't look like the shot. They called the person in the shot. As an artistic director, I looked at thousands of them. They are important and should be treated as such. If you can't afford to get new ones, that's another matter. Did you ask your new representation if they had an opinion? I've seen it happen lots of times wherein they knew the perfect photographer for you. My point is that your headshot should be the best you can get and that it's YOU 'out there'.
