They will die.
2-3 weeks Max if you water them every 3 days.

Why to worry about that now? It's a "Christmas tree", put it up around Christmas time. In most European countries, you put up the tree on the 24th. It is very special that way, in the evening the whole family comes together and decorates the tree. Quite memorable!
If you can't wait for the pretty lights, maybe you could decorate a real one outside?

Of course you can - but you will need to keep it very watered. Also, depending on the type of tree you are getting, you REALLY need to make sure that the needles of the tree are moist now. The best way to do this is go to a Christmas tree farm and cut the freshest tree you can find. Trees that are precut and transported (like the ones sitting out at Wal-Marts) will not make it the entire season. In Georgia, we have droughts everyone so everything is drying up...

Almost certainly it will die, or at least be on its way to dying (dried out, losing needles) by xmas. Have you considered an artifical tree? It's just a one time expense (as opposed to annual), they're not messy, they're safe (real trees are a HUGE fire hazard), you don't have to water them and you can keep them up as long as you wish.

I wouldn't recommend buying one now. They will definitely get very dry and lose their needles if you buy them more than a month away from Christmas. Maybe wait until after Thanksgiving.

When we bought real trees we bought them the week of xmas because no matter how well we took care of them, they always died by the end of the week. We have a fake tree we put up every year now...

I don't think you can even buy them yet.
And I'm pretty sure they'd die before Christmas
