I like them Do you really like them thats what really counts! Do they sound good with your last name? Do you and your Partner agree on them? If you two can agree on them then its a go its so hard to get a name you can agree on!

Max and Katie are both nicknames really.
Maxwell, Maxim, Maxamus, Maximilian I believe are the correct names, they are all pretty ugly though. Kaitlyn and Katrina, there are various spellings, are the correct name for Katie.
I do however like the middle names. What about Jacob Max and Jayne Kaitlyn? Sorry I switched them on you. I hope this helped you! Good luck naming.

When I hear Max Jacob I think of the fashion designer Marc Jacob and Katie Jayne is similar in my head to marijuana (Mary Jane)...

Max Jacob -
Max being so common a nickname at the moment, I'd likely give him a longer form in case he ever wants the option (especially to differentitate himself from other boys/men named Max he'll likely know over the years). If you love "just Max," however, it's certainly one that can stand on its own. Not a cutesy, juvenile form or anything like that! I just personally like the idea of giving a child options. ;)
Katie Jayne -
I have to say the opposite here, however, Katie IS a cutesy, juvenile form. Perhaps adorable on a little girl, or even on a young woman (should she prefer it, especially among family and friends), but not something most women want to HAVE to put on their driver's license, college application, resume, office door, business card, wedding invitations, etc. A formal version, such as Katherine, Katarina or even simply Kate, gives her the option of using a mature, adult form in such legal, formal, educational or professional situations. And of course, the nickname Katie is still readily available! It just doesn't have to be her legal given name.
Trust me. I know plenty of adult "Katies" who wish their parents had the foresight to give them an actual formal name. It's much easier to say, "You can call me Katie," or "I prefer simply Kate," if you do have a full name to fall back on, but a much harder transition to go from legal name "Katie" to mature version "Kate." Most simply refuse to accomodate after years of using the actual given name "Katie."
I'd also drop the unnecessary random Y from Jane, though I love the name itself. Short, sweet and classic ... no need for alterations. :)

i really liked Maximilian Jakob (family spelling) but... hubby don't like Jakob at all so i had to ax it. i thought it was absolutely sophisticated though and i think it would be a great combo.
i am not to big on Katie as a full name. i like Kathrine(or Kaitlyn or any other kind of name variation like that) i think Katherine Jayne is very nice i love Jayne spelled this way :~)
