Many passages in the Bible refer to God "stretching out the heavens" "like a curtain"
Anyone have any theories or explanations that might offer insight to this? Interesting that 96 percent of the universe is a mystery to us.

Job 9:8
He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea.

Psalm 104:2
He wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent

Isaiah 40:22
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

Zechariah 12:1 This is the word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the spirit of man within him,

Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to people on it, and spirit to those who walk on it (Isaiah 42:5).

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb; I am the Lord, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself (Isaiah 44:24).

The universe did not stretch out "like a curtain". It inflated like a balloon, just after the big bang. The bible is not the best place to look for astronomical facts.

Yes. The universe is God's soup bowl, and the recipe called for some dark matter starch, for thickening.

Science is science and religion is . . . well, religion. Never the twain shall meet. I'm curious - which Bible passage(s) talks about the expansion of the universe?
