Don't you think "He" is still alive in our mind?

What Nietzsche actually said is, "God is dead and we have killed him."

This is his comment on organized religion destroying the essence of the individual. He detested anything that took away individualism, like industrialization and nationalization (he was very much against, and disturbed by, the nationalization of Germany).

Despite popular opinion, he NEVER lost his faith in God.

He obviously hadn't experienced the wonder and glory of my savior. The experience of God's hand is different for lot's of people. I feel him in the world around me and when he guided me through 3 brain surgeries. Some may just feel a calm peaceful God. He probably took that since he hadn't felt God in his life, there wasn't any. It's dangerous making a blanket statement like that.

Not much. God is much more than alive in our minds. He is alive in every aspect of our world.

By the way, God said that Nietzsche is dead.

He said it to make you think about what God is. How can God be dead, was he ever living?
If you think about his words are alive becaue you are still asking about it.

Nietzche and Freud are both dead today. Apparently both subscribed to other belief ideas.

Why did you ask this in psychology - why not philosophy.

As for the statement "God is dead!" He was never alive.
