No clue why.
But, as was already stated, and in my personal experience with other MMO's, most games pick one day out of the week to bring their servers down (Some games, with lots of servers, split the day they come down. Example would be the West coast servers are down on Monday, while the East coast servers go down on Tuesday and the European servers are down on Thursday) usually for Maintenance and also for patches/hot-fixes to the game.
Enjoy the wait, nothing you can do about it but play a different game while you wait.

OK today is the day that they patch the game and make sure everything is working out. they do this like every Tuesday, But today they are releasing a new patch that from level 20-60 every time you turn in a quest you get more experience, so that could be the reason why it is not working

I'm waiting patiently, too. I really wanted to play for a bit this morning while my son napped, but that isn't happening today... hopefully they'll have it all ready soon.

happens every tuesday get used to it lol. thier just doing matience on the server to make sure they run as good as possible
