Is diversity always a good thing? Doesn't it have some drawbacks? Why are people shoving this concept down my throat?

It's a good thing b/c it encourages folks from all walks of life to participate in education and the workplace. No drawbacks, as long as it isn't a tool for placin g underqualified folks in positiions.

I think diversity is good. It makes life much more interesting. I wouldn't want everyone to be like me. I also feel that it is important to bring down the hatred that people have for cultures they don't know.
