It's similar to the red pipe with white turny thing at it's top, in the photo (link below).

Problem being, when I turn the white connection thingy, the red pipe just begins to twist with it and then gets to a stage where it won't turn anymore.

Got a new washing machine coming tomorrow but conditions are that the old one has to be disconnected... which I'm having problems with.

Thanks.

The connections you show are the hot and cold water inlets connections to the water supply and isolating valves. No need to undo these... Undo the screw connections where these pipes are fitted to the back of the washing machine...Then use these same hoses to fit to the new machine,, The fittings are standard, Use new rubber washers if you like... The new hoses you get you can keep as spares in case they are ever needed.. The drain hose will have to be disconnected though as this does not disconnect from the machine...PS remember to turn the valves off before disconnecting the inlet hoses.. Don't want a fllood.. Also when the new machine is fitted remember to turn the valves on again ,and check for leaks before pushing it fully into place.

You probably need to get 3 tools in there, which can be really fun, since 3 hands and arms usually won't fit. If you have any Vise Grip pliers, clamp them on the hose just above the connector with the handles against the wall or another pipe, then a pair of pliers on the other pipe and turn the connector with another pair. If you don't have Vise Grips, a heavy rubber band or string/rope that stretches some to tie the handles on channel locks or other pliers may do it.

it looks like the white thing is supposed to turn while the red pipe stays still kinda like a garden hose. i would recommend getting some pliers and holding the pipe still while you take off the white thing. I think that over time it has gotten stuck so you might also try unscrewing it a bit and then rocking the red pipe so it comes lose

Hold the pipe while twisting the connector - it is stuck on the rubber seal. As you seem so naive - make sure you have switched off the water supply too. If you are not strong enough then get a grown up to help you.

i've got not seen a blanking cap for the form of connector maximum commonly used in the united kingdom regardless of the reality that i'm optimistic somebody someplace can cause them to. As human beings have suggested there should not be a choose for a cap regardless of the reality that there may well be a danger of by possibility knocking the faucet on in some unspecified time sooner or later in case you have the main undemanding form of small faucets used in the united kingdom - those are a small setting up it is the two the faucet which turns in undemanding terms ninety ranges from off to on and additionally the relationship factor for the versatile hose. those frequently have faucet handles that are shade coded blue or crimson for chilly or warm water feed. take a glance simply by fact those colored handles are often interchangeable by making use of unscrewing a small screw on real. What I did in this occasion became into to teach the faucet off and do away with the plastic manage so as that it is impossible to by possibility knock to the on place. in case you are trying this tape or tie the manage to the pipe in case you opt for it sooner or later. sturdy success!

Channel locks, preferrably the right angle kind. Use it to grip and turn the white turny thingy (sounds like a woman's description). Hold the clear part in you other hand.

You need something to grip the metal end on the pipe while you un-do the "white turny thing" with water-pump pliers.

turn the little red lever 45deg to the off position, disconnect from the washing machine end, then go back to the tap end and disconnect with a pair of grips, then it wont matter about the hose turning.

you need two pipe wrenches, put one on the red thingy to hold it in place while you unscrew the other thingy with the other one, or if you don't have that pliers will work too, just be careful with the grips.
