Yes you probably need a new keyboard. From the sample you gave, note that the that number appears is the one above and to the left of the key you typed - 2 with w, 8 with i, 3 with 3, 0 with p. It seems likely that your keyboard is scanning and producing output from the top and second key rows each time.
You might check by borrowing another keyboard if you don't have a spare (don't we all?) and see if it happens with that one before buying.

Have you tried shutting down and starting up again? I had this happen sometime back whenever I was using a laptop for a long time and it got hot, but when I turned off and let it cool down everything came back to normal. Of course, though it could be a sign that you need a new keyboard, perhaps having spilt liquid over it at some time?

LOL how in the world would anyone on YA know? You need to call some place like Best Buy and talk to the Geek Squad or something like that. Talk to people that know what could cause that.
Common sense would tell me that it's a keyboard malfunction. If it were a virus, you would not be able to delete the numbers.

slow down and assume the correct posture for typing and the fatfingering will probably go away, unless you are wearing really long fingernails. If that is the case, trim your nails.

It is probably the keyboard. They only cost like 5 bukcs. If it a laptop then you may have more money to spend on repairs. I don't very seriously it is a virus. Virus designers want to destroy your whole system and take as many with them as they can

If you drink pop or eat at the computer then maybe some sticky stuff has gotton between the keys and they stick together. You can either try to clean it out yourself and maybe messing up you keyboard. If it was me I wouldn't us the trouble and I would actually buy a new one!

You may have a dirty or sticky keyboard. If you spilled a liquid on the keys, it can also affect it this way. Recommend: Get yourself a new keyboard...usually not more than about $20.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME!
U = 4
I = 5
O = 6
J = 1
K = 2
L = 3
M = 0
Number lock was what was wrong with mine.
See how there's small numbers in the bottom right corner of the keys?
I pressed Shift and Num Lk together and it fixed it :)
Hope this helps xx

certain parts of your keyboard are messed up. the i8 and p0(zero) and w2 are messed up. Did you spill anything on it recently? if you can take it apart, do that..or else get a new keyboard.
