Because to live that way, you would only be thinking of yourself. That's the definition of selfish. If you were to think of your parents and other loved ones who would grieve for you when you die young, you would want to live a long life to give them happiness. You would also be happier.

Who cares if it's selfish. If it's not putting someone else in danger...I think it's perfectly fine to be selfish in that way.

I had a friend who had a diagnosis and she knew she would die before she was 20. We were 17 at the time. So she partied hard, drank a bunch...stopped going to school....spent all her money, did drugs, but most importantly, she had fun and was happy. She died at 18 of her condition.

I am so glad she lived life the way she did, it was actually very inspiring.

If tomorrow did come for here.....she would still be having fun :D Cheers to her!

There's nothing wrong with being "selfish" as long as the person doing the living and dying doesn't harm anyone else (i.e., although gangs are obviously selfish, they don't fit this proviso, because they are violent toward themselves and others).

Personally, I think everyone who wants to lead such a "life" (including gangs) should be allowed to do anything they want, given the aforementioned caveat, so that they get themselves out of the gene pool, and stop wasting our time, and, potentially, tax money to fix whatever they break, including themselves. What a beautiful world it would be!

Live fast, die young, and leave a good looking corpse.

I don't know, probably - but that is the thing with young people. They ARE selfish. And they should be.

The problem is, what if tomorrow DOES come? What if you DON'T die young? Then what? Then its not cute anymore, then it becomes a "wasted youth." Its a tough call, on the one hand, be adventurous, dangerous, have lots of experiences and make lots of memories. But do think of your future, because you might just have one.

When the safety & well being of others isn't taken into consideration; when a person only thinks about his or herself & doesn't consider how his or her actions may affect others.

It`s childish, & not sustainable. It`s not an option for regular ppl really. Wealth is needed to realise it.
