Had my ultrasound today and the tech said that she thought it was a girl because she could not see anything like a boy, but it could be hidden by the legs. How many people had this happen and what did you end up having? I have a real tight budget and I do not know if we should start putting away girl clothes. I already have boy clothes from my son.

I say until it is 100% and they see between the legs your good to stay where you are. Don't buy anything till after the baby is born. I found out 10 days before my son was born that he was a boy. And hoping that this is a girl this time around with my husband. I would buy white, or neutral baby clothes just to bring the baby home in. Some onesies and full length pjs for the little tike, but don't go overboard over $20 on clothes. Also you can look on Ebay to find some used baby clothes lots, I did that for my son and got TONS of cute outfits for $35! Good Luck!

Unfortunately if the baby is not in the right position it can be hard to see for sure if it is a boy or a girl. I have heard of quite a few cases where the ultrasound tech said that the baby would be a girl and it was a boy and vice versa. They were pretty sure with our ultrasound and it ended up being right, but if the tech wasn't positive I personally wouldn't go out and buy a bunch of pink things. Just start going through your son's clothes and separating the more neutral outfits that you think the baby could wear for a while whether it is a boy or a girl.

Since you aren't sure I would set aside money instead of clothes. Put the money somewhere safe where you won't be tempted to touch it. Maybe even open a separate savings account at a bank you don't currently use (one with no fee) so if you need to access the money you actually have to go to out of your way to get it. That's how we save up for vacations and it has really worked for us.

If you have another ultrasound and it is more clear then you will have some money socked away to get what you need.

Do you belong to freecycle? You might try joining freecycle and see if anyone is getting rid of girl clothes. If you don't need them after the baby comes you can always re-freecycle them.

Good luck!

Until you can clearly see I would save money and hold off on buying anything. A girl although nothing is sticking out you can see three lines in the genital area, where the labia, and clitoris rise up and create a shadow effect. So I would wait until I saw that before I bought anything, because sometimes you can't take that stuff back.

Well maybe wait until you have another one to be sure. The tech said a girl when i was 24weeks due to seeing 3 lines then i had another ultra sound and it was then for sure i was having a girl. Nothing in them legs . You could alway just go neutral for now

I would hold out or ask next appointment to try again to see the parts. Just because she couldn't see a penis doesnt mean there isnt one. You need to see the 3 lines to make sure it is a girl or the little nub to see it is a boy.

Since your ultrasound was inconclusive, they should be able to give you another one at your next visit.

i have seen it go both ways, you can try and have another ultrasound done. if you can convince them to give you one. Or you can pay to have one done. If you can afford it look into the 3d ones. They will be able to tell if its definitely a boy or girl. But out of most circumstances it does end up being a girl.

They dont look for a penis, they look for the testicals, which are in the same place where they would find the female anatomy. I would bet its a girl. But who knows.

Just bulk up on unisex and wait until you have another ultrasound or until the baby is here to buy gender specific.

i would just buy colors that would be good for a boy or girl like yellow. it could be hidden very well but maybe go back to see if you could get another sonagram
