Have you ever done something selfless for a stranger, and done so without telling a soul who knows you? How did it make you feel, and did you struggle with telling someone what you'd done in hopes of getting a good ol' pat on the back?

Yes and yes. I don't know about getting a pat on
the back but struggled because it was an interesting story. The other person was interesting and changed my way of thinking, but if I told, then it would sound uncool like I wanted Brownie points.

Yes several times , (i.e. helped an old fat woman lift a heavy package out of the subway.)

Mildly satisfied.

No, I try to tell interesting stories about my life, not pointless, rambling ones. Though being a founder of a volunteer group that entertains at children's hospitals and fundraisers I'm pretty much set for pats on the back (though that's not 100% selfless since it's sort of fun).

Now that is a double standard question!!! HAHAHA - if we told then what happens, the good dead goes unnoticed to the higher power? Or if we do it just for the recognition, then what?

I don't go out of my way to do something nice. I just do it. I need the Karma! I could care less when it comes back around, at least maybe I made someone smile for a little bit...

yes. yes, i was craving someone to recognize my efforts other than the person i helped. though i realized that the best recognition was from that stranger. plus, if you don't tell anyone who'll know/find out.
