NO! It isn't the job that is a scam, it's the people that try to sell you books on "HOW TO" be a Mystery Shopper. That is where the "SCAM" gives the Mystery Shopping Industry the wrong impression.

You NEVER pay to become a Mystery Shopper.
The information is available, free on the
website: MysteryShop.org, the official website for anything and everything related to Mystery Shopping.

The pay is low, $1.00 to $5.00 or more for each shop. The most I was offered to do a Mystery Shop was $100.00, do NOT expect to make $100, it was a special situation that need a "right now," person, to do the shop, for each mystery shop. It can be fun and tedious.

One must be an excellent writer as reports must be typed and submitted to to the company that gave you Mystery Shopping Assignment.

The more assignments you take, the more money you make. Shops are typically in your local area.

If you can read and shop, you can be a mystery shopper, as well as, be able to maintain deadlines, for doing and completing shops. Some are fun and interesting.

I have had shops: where I received a free dinner, breakfast, cocktails, Chocolates, CD's, etc.

Go to: Mystery Shop.org, to learn more about the Mystery Shopping industry. Have fun.

No they're mostly pretty legit. My mom has a friend who used to do it. You basically just eat out at different restaurants for free, they don't really pay you a lot in terms of actual money though.
