I don't know about anyone else, but I am sick to death of posts from young girls asking if they're pregnant, could they get pregnant if..., omg i might be pregnant, what am i going to do if i'm pregnant? WHY ISN'T ANYONE USING PROTECTION OF ANY KIND???? Like I tell my girls, if you have sex without protection then you'd better hope ALL you get is pregnant!! Having sex without using condoms could be a death sentence, yet it happens ALL THE TIME according to the posts on these boards!! I don't get it! Is it really that hard to understand that you're literally taking your life into your hands if you don't insist the guy wears a condom?? PARENTS OF TEENS - Is it really too much effort to pull your heads out of the sand long enough to inform your children they are playing russian roulette with their bodies???

To clarify - this isn't aimed at people who use b/c and it fails for whatever reason, which is extremely rare. I'm talking about all the kids who don't use ANYTHING AT ALL & obviously don't understand how dangerous their careless behavior is.
BTW - I am not being prudish - that statement alone proves my point though, so thanks.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!! I'm sick of it too and also sick of supporting all these illegitimate babies because the parents are just too young and stupid to have decent jobs to support them. It could have all been avoided if they would have just stopped for 5 freaking seconds to put on a condom. Seriously, in my opinion and experiences, sex isn't so great that you couldn't do that.
I also have an STD that has NO CURE. See, it can happen to anybody.

It should come down to both as I feel both are equally responsible and have equal rights. Where people often get the idea women are the ones who have more control is due to women having the choice of an abortion. I don't believe abortion is a valid choice except in very dire medical situations but I do find it hard to argue with that line of thought. It only "takes two to get pregnant" during the conception and after birth to many people for some odd reason, while during the pregnancy it's something the woman has full control over. I still think the best solution is for both people to take control of their birth control if they're not looking to have a baby, but both would have equal rights as well. But not everyone agrees on either half of that sentence. Not every woman would have an abortion anyway. No birth control that I know of protects against STDs except condoms, and that protection is fairly limited.

yup so true yet they keep asking what do i do, i might be pregnant, how do i tell my boy friend they wouldn't have this problem if they had just put on a freakin condom it is not much to ask for actually it is very simple, not many people online want to read or even hear about every day that a 15 yr old or 13 yr old is pregnant and when they ask why everyone is giving them a hard time (criticizing) about the question , they would never have to ask this if they had used protection it is that simple except for the exception of those who didn't have a choice sorry about that to all those people who have been raped or molested
but to others who are under aged or not ready for motherhood use protection or don't even have sex at all

In this time, there is NO EXCUSE to not use birth control. There are like a billion different methods and most of them are very easily available. So I completely agree with you.
Now, I do understand that birth control isn't always 100% effective. I have a son to prove that. (Don't worry, I am also not a teen and in a wonderful relationship.) But still, a majority of the people who ask those questions say "we didn't use a condom", "he pulled out", or "we were too eager." You can't always blame the parents though. I know plenty of people who teach their kids proper birth control, and their teen still ends up pregnant.

I feel ya girl. My 16 yr old SIL got in trouble for writing a note to her 16 yr old bf (who's mother found it) saying she was ready and couldn't wait to have his babies. Mama refuses to put her on bc or teach her how to use a condom because she thinks if she doesn't, sis wont have sex. I just laughed and asked her how that worked for her (she had her oldest at 17 and her second I think less than a year later) SIL is the 'baby' so they all still look at her as a 10 year old. I told her I would show her how to put on a condom and told Mama that telling her not to is the guaranteed way for it to happen. She is a good kid but she is also a teen girl. She at least needs to know for when it happens, because it will.

It's annoying I'll admit. But you really can't blame the kids. They don't understand how permament an STD or a baby can be until it's too late. Parents need to take on the job of educating their children. My son is nine and already knows about the dangers of sex and I have told him time and time again to wait until marriage. I hope he does. I have certainly laid the ground work. I don't think parents want to believe there children are having sex but they are! I'd rather my son tell me he needs condoms [when he's older!] than say to me "Mom I have an STD or Mom I'm going to be a dad". Which is more important taking a few minutes to tell your kids the dangers or a lifetime of pain? I tell my son often. Telling them once is NEVER enough. We didn't show them the ABC's and expect them to read after seeing it once. Why do we expect them to understand after one talk? Parents: talk often and be truthful. It really does get easier every time! I promise!

I agree with you, completely.. I have a 16 year old sister & even though she's not sexually active, i've told her everything there is about BC, pregnancy, nasty diseases, how BC is faulty, i even made her watch a video of an abortion being done. My mom just kind of hopes we don't have sex until marriage, like she did, but the world is a different place right now.
I am pregnant with a boy & me & my husband are christians so he'll be strongly adviced & motivated to wait until marriage, but he'll also be well educated on BC & he'll know that in case of a pregnancy he'll have to be responsible for the girl & the child. Hopefully he'll wait, but if he doesn't i would want him to be safe.
God Bless

YEA! Seriously. I think what is sickening me is these 14 year olds talking about wanting to have kids and crap. If they have to get other people's opinions online...OBVIOUSLY they are too young and irresponsible. I'm about to turn 19 and no longer live with my parents and I could never even think about getting pregnant.

first off not all young girls get pregnant with out using any form of contraceptives. i myself was 15 when i got pregnant the first time i was on the pill and the fatter had a condom on, so explain what we did wrong there we were twice as much protected and we still ended up pregnant. and so what if they do? this place if for people to get helpful answers from other people, not to be judged or criticized. if you don't like it then don't participate in this site.
