They think nothing of funding the war, but don't want to fund or take care of those forced to deal with the aftermath.

I said nothing about "the troops" I asked about the veterans. There is pleanty of support for "the troops" it's when their tour is done and then they're "veterans" that they're forgotten about.

We all should care more about our military than we currently appear to do......nevertheless, frequently, you will find that republicans care more about initial issues, and not as much about the long term effects of those issues......like abortion is bad...but once the kids are born, republicans don't want services that will help raise the kids that weren't aborted....like welfare, medicaid, and free healthcare; the same can be said for veterans. I don't think they want these people to starve and die and suffer.....they just don't want their tax dollars to pay for people who run into bad luck or for people who don't want or cannot afford the children republicans so desperately want them to keep alive.

Why is it only now people are concerned about our veterans? During the 40 years that Democrats ran both houses of Congress, funding for VA's and Veteran aid services was criminally underfunded. Clinton had his 8 years and did nothing. Don't start trying to get all righteous about the funding now. We still have vets from WWII in our VA's and health care system. Only now you are concerned? BS. You just want to use our vets as a political weapon. If the Dems are able to win back the White House and maintain control of Congress, they will forget about funding for the Veterans faster than you can say "tax the greedy rich".

i understand that is confusing, yet there's a distinction between God and the GOP. How do lefties get it so perplexed? sure republicans are effective, yet no, no longer all effective. i do no longer think of Bush has made infallible judgements, yet this conflict were brewing for a protracted time. The Clinton administration became their backs and allowed tensions to expand. The pot became into waiting to boil over in the past Bush even peeked under the lid. the two events could take accountability for their strikes if have been going to get this mess wiped sparkling up.

If you are referring to Walter Reed Hospital... the hospital submitted its predicting operating costs/personnel to the military,as it does every year. But it never dreamed it would have so many soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan occupying its beds, and so it is badly underfunded. No doubt this will receive more attention in the future. Bureaucracy once again.
The government is not intentionally ignoring its wounded as you imply. Once again, just like with the aftermath of Katrina, we see the inefficiency of appropriate monetary allocations if someone on that particular duty is not pulling his/her weight.

Got a hot flash for ya..! Your hated Republicans don't control Congress at this time. The Democrats who are going to save America (..ha-ha-ha..) are the majority in Congress and Congress funds the war.
At the very least, get your facts straight before slinging mud..!

Close to 1/3 of the returning soldiers are suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome. Since this disorder isn't 'visible', they are not getting the treatment they need.
We will be paying for this war for decades to come and I'm not just talking about $$. We need to make sure our vets have the help they deserve.

Please feel free to read the bill from Congress and note from the President. If the bill were by itself it would have been approved even with the increase. It is the other additions that are being vetoed. If you really care for Veterans tell you Congressmen & women to submit the bill by itself.

Excuse me, but the last time I checked, the DUMMYCRATS are the ones in charge of Congress. They are the ones who write and pass legislation to fund and support our troops. If they really wanted to support our veterans, all they have to do is pass the legislation WITHOUT ALL THE EXTRA PORK THROWN IN!!!

Because the government considers you, the troops, expendable. Nuff said!
You are their pawns to follow orders and not think for yourself. The government could care less about individual "aftermath" of soldiers and their families.
The VA just makes them look like they are trying.

Could you show me some links and sources for your statement? Perhaps a GOP anti vet rally?
The GOP fully supports the troops and thier mission. The US has given the troops everything they need to succeed on the war against terror and keep the average citizen safe.
