I seriously doubt there will be gridlock. It will be just as easy for Democrats to get their policies passed as it was for the Republicans during their first six years of the Bush administration. The Republicans will lose even more Congressional seats in 2008.

Last I checked, the GOP does not control the House or Senate.

Not that gridlock is always bad. A strongly GOP-controlled congress did a pretty good job squared off with Clinton, for instance, some good legislation was passed over vetos, and some bad legislation was never even considered because it would have been vetoed. Of course, towards the end it was a mess.

And, a surprising amount was accomplished in the Reagan years, in spite of a democrat-controlled congress (or at least, house) for much of that time.
