I guess he had more important things to do, like pitching another war to his friends in Waco, Texas.

What some of you don't realize is that a funeral is supposed to be solemn especially for the fallen veterans instead Bush ranted on and on about Iran and how they need to be dealt with. No matter how you feel about that. The fallen veterans funeral was no place for his selling another war. He has no class.

In a time when a country is at war it is of greater importance that the president show his support by attending veterans day ceremonies.
It is a slap in the face to both those who have fought hard and died in the name of the nation, and those who continue to put their lives on the line in the name of America.

He was invited to be at a National Fallen Soldiers Memorial Ceremony at an American Legion Post.
He had been in Crawford, hosting German Chancellor Angela Merkel the previous day, so stayed in the area at the invitation of the American Legion.
You BDSers really, really stretch to malign Bush, don't you?
It's pretty pathetic.

He was attending 4 funerals of soldiers.!!!!!Read the news for a change before you start ranting.
I am sure 8 years with Clinton laying the wreath when he did not serve a day made the dead feel so much better.

The President was at the National Fallen Soldiers Memorial Ceremony in Waco, TX, honoring all of the nation's veterans at that location.

This is disappointing news, although he has made it every other year. Is he the first President to miss laying a wreath on Veterans Day?
What did you do on Veterans day to celebrate and thank our Veterans. Complain because you did not have a Government job and had to work?

Bush has made it clear what his priorities are and aren't. Vets obviously aren't on his top ten. If they were, he wouldn't be forcing multiple tours, and they would receive stellar health care when they came home. They wouldn't have to jump through hoops to get what they were PROMISED.

Ha, maybe he thought he deserved the day off since it was a government holiday.
Unless he was violently ill, there isn't an excuse.

Yes, that is sad, but true. The interesting part was seeing how good Cheney is at holding his hand over his heart. I mean, it was really glued there.
Of course Bush is busy trying to line up allies for the war on Iran. It's urgent to him, not because Iran is an imminent threat, but because his term of office is almost up.
