I'm not sure who they'll get for the outfield, but I must say I'm not very happy that they lost Edgar Renteria(Shortstop). Man was he a great addition to this team. He was solid in the infield and very steady at the plate. I had season tickets this year and I noticed that he didn't get much love from the fans(if your not from Ga. or their farm system you don't get much love...no matter how good you are). I believe he was integral in keeping them in the chase until he got injured. So I guess if they get someone from the farm system or someone who's from Georgia...the fans will be happy.

the GM will spend money when needed.
i dont see outfield as the braves biggest problem.
in the edgar renteria trade, the braves got 2 players, jair jurriens and gorkeys hernandez. jair will be a reliable starting pitcher next year, but i dont see much else beyond jair, hudson, and smoltz. Gorkeys very well may solve the outfield questions, he is a speedster that hits very well for avg. he may not start right away but by june he should be an everyday starter.

The Braves tend to make smart moves for the most part. As far as Rowand(not Rowland) goes, he would be a nice addition but may cost too much. They have a good farm system that usually provides excellent players... And I'm not even a Braves fan.

Rowand seems to me an Atlanta kind of guy - he won't pull down Hunter/Jones money (expected $15m per year - huge wastes of money for either of them).
Rowand will probably be in the 12-13m range; and he's a much better player than either Jones or Hunter at this point.
I think they'll spend the money; they need to show they're willing to make some type of investment in the team.

I think they will make a push for Coco Crisp to shore up the CF position, he is a bargain compared to the big three on the market, they may spend some money but it will be more on Pitchign than on the fielders. They are said to not be real big spenders this year.

If they were smart, they would pursue Rowland. He is solid, and probably the most practical.
As far as a utility man, there's no better than Rob Majokviac (spelling ?).
If they could add those 2 plus a solid starter, say Freddie Garcia, they would bet set to pass the Mets.

You need to understand that out fielding is like outsourcing, meaning the infielders, shall they choose to, tell the outfielders to deal with a line drive aimed towards them. All in all, the outfielder must have the reflexes of a cat and the gumption of the cougars to see what is coming towards them shall be treated with due diligence and in a hurry, as much as the life allows.
