No, transportation is up to employees not employers. They could try to carpool.

Read your contract of employment. It will tell you in there.

Their not liable any other time of the year so they probably not for these days. Also if their paying for your taxi, then they should also give everyone with a car, the same amount of money.

I worked on xmas eve a number of yrs, till 10pm and never got my transport paid for.

No, unless the company you work for has always provided you with transport to get to and from work, then it is the employee's responsibility to ensure that they have adequate transport in place

in the UK they may have a "duty of care" to ensure all staff get home safely if no public transport is available for transport home. I would ask the management what arrangements are being made to ensure you can get home SAFELY

In the US, no...the employees are responsible for their own transportation. Of course, it would be a nice gesture for the boss to spring for group transportation (mini-bus, etc.).

Merry Christmas!

Most Christmas Eve's I stay at home but this year I went out. Me and my girlfriends family went to the Blackpool dungeons, then to Blackpool circus. On the way home we went for a meal. It was a really good night!

In the UK, it would depend on your contract of employment. I would doubt that your employer is liable for your transport costs.
