How is it morally sound to obligate a country in a war that is detrimental to our country?
We're wasting money on a war that could be spend to educate and preserve well-being to our citizens.
We're damaging our reputation in the international community that is effecting any potential future endeavors or trade.
We're assessing a threat that will never quit fighting because it's their God-given right.
"We don't negotiate with terrorists"
Why shouldn't we?

I'd appreciate answers that were tasteful and mature.
I don't want people who are ignorant with random jargon and a blame that has no placement and/or reason.

I'm not a Republican, but I wanted to add one significant detail that really brings your point home: we are spending FOUR MILLION DOLLARS AN HOUR on the war in Iraq.
Is there anyone who doesn't find that shocking and upsetting?

The war has not been "detrimental" to the economy. Save for gas prices, our economy is doing much better than it was after Clinton. Your statement is thus a falsehood, and cannot be reasonably answered.
Wasting money? I would consider it a waste of money to give welfare to those perfectly capable of working.
The international community can shut up. I don't see anyone cutting off their trade with the US over the war. The countries that we really care about have our back anyway, Israel and Brittain.
By your same logic, you could say, "Why punish murderers and theives? We'll never stop them all!"
We don't negotiate with these terrorists because their demands are innegotiable. For instance, Bin Laden insisted that the entire country convert to Islam before he would stop fighting. Do you see that happening? I sure don't.

it all boils down to this, 9/11 proved that inaction is far more detrimental to our citizens,
education hasn't been cut to pay for the war
the only countries upset with the U.S. are the ones that were profiting from the oil for food program
we are still the largest consumer market in the world, no one has cut us off from trade
and to your last two statements, since they refuse to quit fighting mean we should bend to their will? did the school yard bully stop harassing the nerd once he got his lunch money? no if you give in once the bully will keep coming back for more, your theory of negotiating with terrorists means that when ever they need cash for weapons, or a leader released from prison they can hijack a plane and make a phone call, it wont end, give them an inch and they will take a continent
the other key to understand is this. they don't hate George bush, or republicans , they dont just hate America, they don't love democrats, or the green party, or even moderate Muslims.....
they hate the modern western civilized world,

Forging intelligence to justify an occupation of a country that was no threat and then killing civilians just breads more terrorists.
We are making terrorists faster than we can kill them. I've an idea. Rather than blaming Bush for negotiating with terrorists in Iraq, Afganistan, Pakastan and Saudi Arabia, why not just stop creating more. It would also help if Republicans (like Oliver North) stopped supplying them with weapons to kill US troops, but first things first. Let's stop making things worse.
Conservative - one who resists change.
Obstructionist - one who resists change.
Don't take my word for it. Look it up.

If we're going to negotiate with terrorists, then we should also negotiate with serial killers, pedophiles, and others capable of molestation and sadistic acts involving innocent women and children.
Also, those working in the Twin Towers were not in combative uniforms or engaged in warfare. They were people going about the business of a livelihood.
Civilized and moral people do not negotiate with those who are void of conscience and morality. You are honestly in support of rational talks with that caliber of monster?
