my doc has advised my hubby to do a sperm count and i know i am sounding stupid but has anyone gone thru it .. whts the procedure involved... please let us know .. we r TTC since June 07 and its really frustrating.. thanks

Whack off into a cup and they count the swimmers.
It is better if you do it for him.
Statistically women are 85% of the conception problem.

Basically you go into a room and jerk off in a cup. Then they put a sample under a microscope and count the alive ones in a certain area. At least this is what I've seen numerous times on TV including on Jackass when they had a contest to see who had the most sperm. ;)

A sperm count is done by testing a sperm sample, that means he has to supply it and that can be done by you or himself, the sample must be in the sterile contanier you will be given and must be kept at body temperature. It doesn't usually take too long but masturbation is the only way this can be achieved without contaminating the sample.

Yes, I had to the same to find out why could not have any children. Yes you do go in a room and masturbate. They give you magazines to read while do it. Have a beaker that are instructed not to touch to put in the sperm. I was quite embarrassed knowing the people outside the room know what am doing. It was very difficult to do under those conditions.

My husband and I were tring to conceve for over a year. So we did it on my obvilation days (10-14 days after period) and I sat with my legs up on the wall and my butt elevatoed and what do you know the first month it worked
