As a matter of fact, I grew up in the south and went to graduate school at UGA.

The problem is that we understand the geophysical and atmospheric physics of precipitation, and they do not respond to prayer. People have been praying for rain (or praying for it to stop) for thousands of years — and it has never worked — not once.

Besides, it prayer worked, there are things more important even than Georgia’s drought that could use a little supernatural help.

True, they claim the right to decide whose life is of value and what the quality of that life should be.

And, like their Abraham-sired cousins, Islamic fundamentalists, they believe (and have the historical pedigree to prove) in conversion through genocide and see no inconsistency in murdering, raping, torturing, barbequing, and hacking-off body parts as a means to spread their spiritual message of unconditional love and goodness.

I'm glad these kind of things happen, and I hope they continue to happen, so people can realize how moronic these people can be.

The word "dominion" in the Book of Genesis could be updated to "lominion," the Loving Dominion we really want, by those asking for divine intervention (not just in Georgia) in our bad habits as poor caretakers of the environment.

Since when is praying a bad thing? I don't know if you live in Georgia or not, but I do, and this lack of rain is frightening. Why can't the man pray if he wants? He's not forcing anyone to pray with him. Nothing else is working, and this is a last ditch effort.

Is that wrong? The bible says that we should pray to Him when we are in trouble. We should pray when we need.
