Not from the point of view of the US at this time. At this time to fly to the BVI, you do need a passport, but not to travel via land or sea. That will change, but not until Summer 2008.

Note that you do need an official copy of your birth certificate and a government issued photo ID (usually a drivers license is what people use. )

No passport needed this year for water transportation to BVI for US citizens. Be sure to bring your original birth certificate and photo ID. Next summer, the rules will be changing.

YES! If you coming from the US Virgin Islands you will. BVI is a different country!

based on going through BVI.....that's BRITISH Virgin Islands Customs last week..... you must must must have a passport if you are American.
