The world is about to break and no one has been able to answer this so far...

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Only the intelligent will ask this question, but are you ready for the actual truth. In a nut shell.-We are not this material body, IE; Race, color, nationality, Religion, mind, intellect, senses, job, etc. We are all eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We never die, only this mortal body dies.
This material world is not our real home, it is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery, only one fourth of the souls come here, and the rest are enjoying blissful eternal loving relationships with our Maker named above. We came to this world due to envy of Gods position. So He said knock yourself out. So life after life we try to be happy in lording it over material nature and we eventually become frustrated with our attempts to try to imitate the Supreme Person (God) So eventually we question this existence and the intelligent seek the way out of this mess. Those who are intelligent, take up the process of self realization (Bhakti Yoga) which gives one real peace, happiness and reality. Then at the end of life they can return to the eternal Kingdom where there is no more birth, death, old age, or disease and be eternally happy.
For info. Go to harekrishnatemple.com Read Bhagavad Gita- As it is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada asitis.com you can read it on line. I am so glad I know the purpose of life. The Gita reveals all.

Sigh, what is our purpose? I do not know, but it wasn't even our choice for us to exist. The only person who knows why we exist is the person who chose for us to exist. Now, I'm not saying it's God. It is just easier to understand this way. I understand your pain too, I have read sooo many articles on the meaning of life and got no answers. I got simple reasons and complicated ones: To live, To reproduce, to find our meaning/purpose, To die, To make it through.... All I can say is, there better be something after this, and it had BETTER mean something.

This Could be batted arround forever without it ever being solved. i recomend looking for a religious veiw on this in my opinion it is the only real way to have a real answer. If you find a religious veiw on this we all have a mutual goal and purpose for being here and also an additional reason we are here to help people, encourage, the list could go on.

But my opinion on this is to know ones purpose is to know yourself. after that things will fall into place.

I think the answer for everyones existence lies with God. Sometimes it's mind-boggling why we have to live in and endure such a hate-filled world. But, I guess He has a grand plan to fix all of that and we're just pieces to the puzzle.

that's the most stupid question to be asked, it's obvious that nobody will have an answer to that because to know the purpose you have to know the one who gave us existence, and we don't. well and the world is not about to break, why would it?

Our purpose is to harvest gold for our alien masters. we were planted here eons ago by them to harvest this gold and that is why we have such an obsession with it. in exchange for the gold the aliens supplied us with the technology to create the pyramids and have protected us from any and all asteroids that are ravaging the other planets all around us. notice how we haven't been hit yet? they allowed the on for the dinosaurs so that we could live here without fear of being eaten.

Our purpose is to destroy what we have been given…
To go through life making this question without enjoying it…
To wonder and ponder, but never achieving…
Our purpose … to wake up, breathe, look, hear, taste, feel, work, do, laugh and cry
Our purpose is simply to live… stop thinking… act

To test yourself and see what you are capable of. To learn as much as you can. To find the knowledge and the wisdom to accept and respect God and understand why you are you and He is He. Also to make choices. Choices that could influence the very source of existence.

GOD is the creator
A god without any creation is not a god anymore
Consequently, WE are born to JUSTIFY the word:CREATOR
And the signs of a power do not possess the right to object.
We EXIST because ,that's the only way it is.
