If your BIOS is damaged then there's little chance of getting your PC to work again. There are things you can try however.

The first is to drain the CMOS by either moving the jumper or removing the battery overnight and letting it drain. Once you replace it, try resetting the BIOS and see if it accepts any changes. Chances are it won't.

You can try flashing the BIOS from a floppy but again this isn't a perfect solution as even with this you might still be infected.

If you have another mobo of the same type you can always try swapping the chip from one to the other. I did this once for an old socket 7 ASUS board and it worked.

If none of this works, then you've got to bite the bullet and get yourself a new mobo.

And just to the person that said a virus can't affect the BIOS you don't know what you're talking about. I had a system who's BIOS was nuked by the Chernobyl virus and it literally fried it.

Hi. I would do a hard reset. Remove the battery. There is a jumper right next to it and you move the jumper one position over. Leave for a few seconds and move it back. Replace the battery. Try to reboot. You may have to change some settings like boot order, FSB and multiplier speeds depending on your machine speed. Usually pressing 'Delete' while booting will get you in. Be sure to write down what you change!

once you turn your pc on, it ought to say something like "Press (key) to enter setup", the position (key) is an absolutely key on your keyboard which includes DEL, F2 or in spite of. Press in spite of key it tells you to, and also you'll flow instantly into the BIOS setup. there'll be a menu in there for capacity administration - there must be a variety of of "capacity on events" (e.g. capacity on via keyboard, capacity on via mouse) that you'll be able to disable. do no longer change ANY BIOS settings till you recognize what they do, as you could stop your pc from operating in case you adjust the incorrect element. change ONE placing at a time and continuously write down the settings you adjust, so that you'll be able to flow again to the unique settings in case you hit any snags.

What are you talking about your bios cant get a virus. When you turn on your computer its either Esc, F2, or F8 to go into bios. But that wont fix your problem, you need to re format your hard drive and install windows again.
