Is it Illegal? (Power leveling)
Yes, power leveling is illegal, because this falls under the "Account Sharing" rule. You are not allowed to let anyone else play your account. I have also had a friend who had someone power level there account before, and got hacked and has all of his items vendored and gold stolen. Even if its from a "Massive/Trusted" company, that dose not mean the same to there employees.
Is it Illegal? (Gold Buying)
Yes, this is definently illegal, as of a recent patch all mail that is sent from one account to another is inspected by staff. So when they see that 100 gold was sent from a level 1 charcter name "Fdsafgd" to a level 53 "Arthas" they will delete the gold that was sent to you and/or ban your account. They take gold buying as a serious offense now and you should NOT do it at all or you WILL be caught.
How dose power leveling work?
Power leveling is when another person logs on your account and levels your character(s) for you.
Overall, you should not participate in any of these activities. Just play the game like it was meant to be played =)

Powerleveling does, of course, work. However, what they do is they do it all on a trial account, and then you must pay to continue the trial. And, it costs insane amount of money, Sometimes over $100 dollers. If I were you, I wouldn't do it, because one, its a waste of money you could spend buying game cards (lol, as if tht aint a waste of money either way), because you should just play the game like everyone else. and Plus, whats the fun of paying for a charactor? plus it is agaisnt blizzards acceptable use policy. About Money, same thing. Against the policy, and if they find out, .ban and ur banned. Don't do it, it aint worht it. bsides making money on WoWn is soooo easy. If i work at it, i could real in a good 20-30g a DAY!!! A DAY! if i work at tht for a week, estimated 25gx7, 175g!

If you want to powerlevel there is no point in playing the game :P Basically you give your passwords to somebody on a PC living in a run down office working as a gold farmer for games. They then play your character constantly until they get the level you want. I just don't see the point in paying to play the game if your not going to do it yourself!
Buying money ... I wouldn't recomend it too much but if it's convenient for you at the end of game content then there is a website called gamesavor.com which has very good deals on money but i've never bought loads, just bits to help me at one point to get my epic flying mount :)

Technically, it's not illegal, but Blizzard bans accounts of people who buy gold or allow their characters to be power leveled because it disrupts the balance of the game. So if you do it, you could get your account and IP banned.
Power leveling works when you pay someone money to log into your account and level your character for you. People do this so they can join raids at level 70 and so on; however, I don't see how you can play your character effectively if you don't know all your spells and skills.
The enjoyment is in the journey, not the destination.

Well powerleveling is considered wrong in the WoW community. I agree with the person above me, there's no point in playing if you're just going to pay someone to do it for you. Half of the fun of playing is the road to lvl70.

What's the point in playing then? what's there to look foward to? You cant feel the feeling of accomplishment and the just one more level, just one more level, and the feeling of success. (Its more fun that way)
I dont understand why blizzard is banning people buying the money rather than the farmers OH WAIT CAUSE BLIZZARD MAKES A $30 PROFIT OF OF FARMERS ACCOUNTS! Greedy Assholes. Dont believe the scare tactics that other people put out just b/c blizzard says so doesnt mean they will truely find out and ban you. really, think about it.
