If you mean Oxford and Cambridge that are out of London, then National Express is one of the public transport. It is from 3 hours, 15 minutes up to 3 hours, 25 minutes, similiar when returning back to Cambridge. There are plenty of coach buses from what I see on the website and the fare is £15.00 total or £16.00 total with insurance cover.

But if you meant the Tube.. Then I do not know. I've heard of Oxford Circus.

Hope this helps.

Right, I know all three cities well and make these journeys often.

Oxford - London - Either train (to Paddington) or bus (two companies run coaches every 10 mins throughout daytime hours and hourly over night - namely "Oxford Tube" (nothing to do with the tube!) and "Oxford Express". Coaches leave London from Victoria and Hyde Park Corner. Coaches stop in various locations in Oxford, including High St. Either way takes 1 hr plus. Coach is £10 return (cheaper is you travel after 3pm), train is £20+.

Cambridge - London - Train (to Liverpool St) or National Express coach to London Victoria (not as frequently served as Oxford is, only about once an hour). Duration unknown. Cost on day is £20+ either way.

Oxford - Cambridge - A HELLISH JOURNEY!!! Either take two trains, changing in London (ie as above) and taking the underground between the London stations or take a coach direct (Stagecoach X5 service). Either way, it will take 3 hrs plus! Return ticket by coach is £10ish. Train probably £40 plus.

Train from Liverpool St station to Cambridge. Train from London Paddington to Oxford. There's also an express bus from London to Oxford that would be cheaper than the train. Check www.thetrainline.com for costs and times.

London Kings Cross Station to Cambridge. Journey Time 45 minutes Trains run every 30 minutes.
London Paddington Station to Oxford. Trains run every 30 minutes. Journey time 55 to 60 minutes.
If travelling daily purchase a 'Season ticket' - far cheaper than buying a ticket each day. Prices will vary according to the ticket bought - e.g. weekly, monthly or annual. Enquire at departure station.

If best in your opinion is fastest, then check out the train. If best in your opinion is cheapest, then check out the bus. I took a bus (national express) from Cambridge to London and got a funfare ticket for only 1 pound!
